- Natures Sweetest Secret: Earthbound Honey at Catalina Bay Farmers Marketby Tristan Hardey
Meet Karlene and Terry – artisan beekeepers and proud owners of Earthbound Honey, a small-batch honey producer with a big focus on sustainability, purity, and craftsmanship. Their mission is simple: to bring you honey that’s as close to nature as it gets – raw, unfiltered (except for wax and bees), and packed with the goodness the bees intended. And the best part? You can find their full range of handcrafted honey every weekend at the Catalina Bay Farmers Market.
Harvest & Store – A Natural Beginning
At Earthbound Honey, quality comes first. Their honey is hand-harvested just once or twice a season, allowing the bees to thrive and the honey to mature naturally. It’s then promptly packed and stored to preserve its flavour and integrity. Karlene and Terry follow organic practices wherever possible, ensuring the honey remains free of synthetic additives or treatments.
Refine & Process – Nothing Unnatural Here
Earthbound Honey is never heat-treated or pasteurized. Instead, it’s gently filtered to remove only bees and excess wax – leaving behind the natural pollens, enzymes, trace minerals, and complex sugars that make raw honey so special. Every batch is independently lab-tested to ensure it meets the highest standards of purity and quality.
Craft & Pack – Simple, Honest, Sustainable
Every jar tells a story. Earthbound Honey is packaged with intention: no plastic (unless requested), only glass jars and minimalist labels that reflect their no-fuss, eco-conscious values. There’s no flashy branding here – just raw, beautiful honey as it should be.
More Than Just Honey – Natural Skincare & Artisan Wares
Beyond their golden jars, Earthbound Honey also offers a thoughtfully curated range of handcrafted products made from their own beeswax and other natural ingredients. From nourishing lip balms, tattoo balms, and beard waxes to all-natural hair wax, each product is designed to be gentle on your skin and kind to the planet. You’ll also find beautifully made natural beeswax candles, perfect for bringing a touch of rustic charm and subtle fragrance into your home.

- The Heart Behind Waggamuffin Pet Suppliesby Tristan Hardey
Waggamuffin Pet Supplies was born from a deep, lifelong love of animals. The founders have always had pets in their lives, and that devotion only grew as they started families of their own. What really sparked the creation of Waggamuffin, though, was something many of us can relate to—a growing concern about what goes into our pets’ food.
After reading articles about the chemicals and additives found in some commercial pet products, they knew they had to make a change. That change became their mission: to provide healthier, more natural options for pets.
They started with 100% natural, New Zealand-made dehydrated treats for dogs and cats. Since then, their range has expanded to include raw frozen food and premium kibble. They believe pets, like people, benefit from a varied diet. That means raw food for vital nutrients, bones and chews to keep teeth clean and strong, and, of course, a good treat every now and then.
When I visited the stall, I was lucky enough to meet some of their four-legged fans—Leah, Koda, and Rooster. Each furry friend made a beeline for the treats and clearly loved the stall.
You can find Waggamuffin Pet Supplies at their permanent stall at the Catalina Bay Farmers Market, where they continue to share their passion with fellow animal lovers.
Waggamuffin isn’t just about pet food—it’s about giving pets the healthy, happy lives they deserve.
